65W processor takes up 65Watts or what?

it says 65W processor for the E4500, but does that mean the power supply has to give it 65W's?m cause i want to get the 8600GT some day, and i know i need the 350W PSU. but i have a 400W PSU. so im in trouble if the processor takes that much Watts. thanks

The 350W PSU for the 8600GT is not just for the card it is for the whole system which confuses a lot of newbies into buy high power expensive power supplies.

First off here are the ways your graphic card can get its power
PCI-E v1.0 slot = up to 75W
PCI-E v2.0 slot = up to 150W
PCI-E 6pin Connector = up to 75W
PCI-E 8pin Connector = up to 150W

The 8600GT does not have a 6 or 8pin connector so it gets all its power thru the PCI-E slot, the 8600GT is PCI-E v1.0 so the max power the 8600GT could ever possibly use is 75W.

The E4500 can use up to 65W when it is fully loaded, but when in idle consumes around 15-20W.

Anyway a 400W power supply will be more than enough to power that system unless you plan on running 30 hard drives etc.
