2.6c overclocking nightmare Hey guys, I definitely need some help here. Trying to overclock my new PIV 2.6c & MSI NEO2-LS mainboard (v1.2 bios), I cannot get this thing to use another RAM setting but 400mhz So when I set my ram to 266 or 333 (Corsair XMS PC3200 CAS2.5) the system won't boot. Windows doesn't even start loading. I even tried lowering the FSB or setting it at 200, 220, 230, all to no avail When I clear the bios, set ram to 400mhz, FSB to 200 (or even 220), all is fine. Problem is, that when using ram at 400mhz, my ram is being overclocked in sync with the FSB, which makes it a bit difficult to reach higher FSBs Any1 got an idea what might be the reason to this? |
it is U you just suck at Oc-ing :) it's a history that keeps on repeating itself |
ehm, he flashed his BIOS to 1.3 and then the dividers worked properly ;) also one of his corsair sticks is borked |
indeed. teus is right. overclocking went fine but never got it stable. until I found out that one of my corsair sticks is faulty (it's PC3200 but gets recognized as PC2100 !!). got 2x256mb TwinMos DDR400 running now and all is fine...Except for temps, but this is due to hot weather, bad cooling in my room and sucky koolance stuff... |
you call your Koolance sucky? feel free to hand it over tomorrow! ;) as I said before, try to upgrade your WC.... what's your FSB/mem right now? |
fsb 200/mem 400 could overclockt stable to fsb 240/mem333, but sisoft memory scores were lower and 3Dmark2003 score was lower too |
calantak your "Super freeze your ***" link is broked. |
