Is your Intel Core 2 Duo still up to date? - Gaming Performance HD 7970

That is the question, Intel's Core2Duo was very popular back in the days and still is. Furthermore according to Steam's survey half of steam gamers are still using a machine powered by a dual core processor. Fair enough, let's see how the Core2Duo E8400 clocked at 3 GHz will perform against today's processors like the i7 3770K and FX-8150 under heavy 3D workloads conditions such as Benchmarks and recent Games with highest graphics settings possible at a resolution of 1920x1080. Let's get it started!

interesting read, if you still have a Core 2 Duo kicking around and want to play the latest games, you are missing out on a good amount of FPS due to the slower CPU;

would love to see a similar article, swapping the C2D with a first generation Core i7 (920 for example); as that one is also getting a bit old
