How To Setup And Run Dual LCD Monitors

@ 2004/10/11
So I finally decided it was time to replace my aging 21" Sony G500 monitor and go LCD. At first I was thinking of replacing the big Sony with a LCD monitor of the same size but after a lot of thought and price checking I concluded the best course would be to run two smaller LCD monitors instead of one big one. I am a resolution nut, I can't help it, I love ultra high resolution displays. My G500 ran at 1600x1200, my Dell laptop runs at 1920x1200 and it'll be a cold day in hell before I down grade my resolution standards.

The benefits of going multi-monitor are many and it's not as expensive as you might think. When I went LCD shopping, I discovered that for the cost of one 21" LCD you can buy two or three 17" LCD monitors. Most 21" LCDs run at a native resolution of 1600x1200 while a 17" run at 1280x1024. By combining two 17" LCD monitors in a dual setup you can have a HUGE 2560x1024 desktop!
