DDR vs. DDR-2

DDR SDRAM has been the biggest savior for the Intel Pentium 4 platform. It has taken it from a status of “avoid like the plague” to one of total acceptance. During the Pentium 4’s early life, Intel had a major hard time convincing its OEM and retail customers to purchase a Pentium 4 system simply because of expensive processors and not to mention an expensive and rather lacklustre RAM imitative called RDRAM

not in a million years

who cares what you have inside your rig? as long a it is speedy; 50% of PC performance is also related to BIOS setup and most importantly, correct drivers & software/OS configuration. you can have the fastest PC in the world but without a properly "tuned" OS it won't mean a lot

Would you spend your hard earn money to buy DDR2 and 9xx chip set motherboard knowing they are not any better than what you currently have so that they can mature into a brighter future?
