While not technically an ultraportable, the 2.9-pound Samsung Series 9 NP900X3A is a competitive and highly attractive notebook computer. It has a 128GB solid-state hard drive that matches the Apple MacBook Air's but is $100 cheaper. It also has an Intel Core i5 CPU, which beats out most of the ultrabooks as they typically have i3's.
