Thermalright SLK-800U heatsink

This is one heavy hunk o’ metal! This is basically an SLK800 with more flexible mounting hardware, which include additional clips, standoffs and screws. Previous models depended on fastening the product to the plastic ZIF socket, putting a tremendous amount of stress on plastic pieces that sometimes would break off. The new mounting method is much more involved but is also much more secure and stable.

Hard for me to believe that they used a "quiet" fan.

In order for me to keep the AXP @2.525 Ghz to below 48C and 24C room; I have to use 3400 RPM fan.

What fan was used on that SLK ?

I doubt it was more silent then the Zalman, the Zalman is able to keep up with the SP-94 when that one is equipped with an equal silent 80mm fan.

something's not right here

Needless to say any SLK800 and ALX800 + CV is all that I need in OCing.

If and when BTX is becoming mainstream; CVIII will take care of "not the same" but " something else" as BTX is not perfect.
