Crucial M4 256GB SSD

While the Crucial M4 256GB failed to dazzle with read speeds, it still scored 30% better than its C300 predecessor, but has write speeds slower than some SATA 3G drives, one thing did stand out as very impressive. The Garbage Collection (GC) of the drive handled dirty performance like a champ. The sanity test had to be repeated without the week's worth of testing done the second time, because during the first test, we were interrupted by a phone call, and during just that short interval, garbage collection kicked in and cleaned the drive to near secure erase performance in under an hour. We don't know what the folks at Micron and Crucial have cooked up here, but we wish they made something this awesome for our homes and offices; it sure blows the doors off of a mere Roomba!
