SunbeamTech Twister 120

We are very excited to have the latest product from SunbeamTech in the house. SunbeamTech has been in business since 2000 and has been just shy of being an enthusiast household name. The name really started sinking in when SunbeamTech spun off with the Tuniq line of CPU coolers. The Tuniq line quickly took the CPU cooling crown and held it for quite some time. SunbeamTech recently released the Twister 120 which is the cooler we will be reviewing today. The Twister 120 is SunbeamTech's next shot at the cooling crown. SunbeamTech was never shy to be innovative in their designs and approach to technology.

The newly released Twister 120 by SunbeamTech follows this tradition. The Twister 120 comes with the traditional 6 heatpipe design, however SunbeamTech decided to beef them up a bit by making them 8mm thick instead of the usual 6mm. And SunbeamTech did not stop here. The Twister 120 also implements a dual fan setup. Of course, we have seen this before, but SunbeamTech does it with a Twist. The two fans spin in counter rotation. One fan spins clockwise and the other spins counter clockwise. If you are into aerodynamics a little bit, you might have just heard a bell ringing, correct…it's a turbine. The counter rotational spinning of the fans accelerates the airflow through the heatsink just like it would in a turbine. This allows the use of slower spinning fans and achieves the same cooling performance.
