Intel Reveals Configurable Atom-Based System-on-Chip

@ 2010/11/23
Intel Corp. on Monday announced the configurable Intel Atom processor E600C-series, which features an Intel Atom E600 processor (formerly code-named “Tunnel Creek”) paired with an Altera field programmable gate array (FPGA) in a single package. The new Atom E600C allows consumers to easily customize Atom-based products and by programming the FPGA from Altera.

Intel Atom E600C processor family with integrated memory and graphics controllers provides original equipment manufacturers with the flexibility to incorporate a wide range of standard and user-defined I/O interfaces, high-speed connectivity, memory interfaces and process acceleration to meet the evolving needs of embedded device market segments. Unlike consumer-oriented Pineview designs, the Tunnel Creek design is based on a single piece of silicon. Various Intel Atom E600C microprocessors with Altera FPGA on board operate at 600MHz - 1.30GHz.
