SSD or 8 GB of Memory: Researching Reasonable Upgrade Options

We have tested several platforms including hard disk drives of different capacity and different amount of system RAM. So, now we are ready to answer the question: what needs to be upgraded once the CPU and the graphics subsystem perform up to your expectations.

Ive got plenty of storage in my system.. So when I had some spare change to upgrade my machine I ended up getting 2x 30gb OCZ Vertex drives and run them in raid0.. Its probably the single best upgrade Ive done to any of the computers Ive ever had.. And since I worked out a deal with my neighbor where he bought me one of the drives for simply helping him pick out the parts for his own rig, its one of the cheapest upgrades Ive ever done as well..

ah come on, set up 4gb of that 8gb as a ramdisk and use it to install apps/temp files, than compare it with an SSD;
just benching and comparing 4gb vs 8gb with SSD vs HDD is hardly interesting
