Sunbeamtech releases Rheosmart 6 Fan Controller

Smart Way Controlling of all Fans & Airflow. The Rheosmart 6 Fan Controller is designed to make any existing 3-pin fan automatically regularized by the PWM signal from the Motherboard! With six independent channels at a maximum of 30W/channel, a wide selection of fans can be supported.

The Rheosmart 6 Fan Controller operates in two different modes; when connected to a PWM-enabled motherboard, you can allow the system to auto-adjust fan speed through the motherboard's temperature sensor. When switched onto manual mode by pressing the small button below each knob, you turn that specific channel into manual control mode.

Simplicity in control
Anyone serious about system cooling will have more than a couple of fans inside their system. This means a lot of noise and high power consumption! Sunbeamtech has released a new product series to provide flexibility in fan speed control: the Rheosmart Fan controllers.

The Rheosmart Fan controllers are based on PWM technology and provide just the right amount of cooling, when you need it. This means no wasted electricity and less noise when you are doing light tasks such as browsing the net.

Three models, endless possibilities
The Rhoesmart Fan controllers comes in three different versions, the single channel Rhoesmart PCI, three channel Rhoesmart 3, and the six channel Rhoesmart 6. The Rhoesmart family of controllers also gives you extra freedom by providing you with the ability to use each channel in automatic (PWM) or manual (hand adjusted) mode, thus offering a smart way to control all fans and airflow.

if you build up from the start with smart fan control from BIOS you can have a nice mix of cooling and noise;
if however you'd like to control more fans than your motherboard supports, a solution like this can come in handy, granted it's enthusiast level, not quite mainstream;
water cooling radiator with 3x120mm fans, 4-5x case fans, etc etc

A few builds ago I used a 4 fan controller.. At the time I was running an XP-90 heat sink with a 92mm Tornado fan.. I couldn't have lived with that thing running at full speed all the time. but I found the controller just not worth the hassle with all the cabling involved.. I just planned my next build without a fan running at 6000RPM and thus had no need of a controller.. My experiences with these leave me thinking that they are usually much less practical in real life than they seem in theory..
