Microsoft Vows to Release Windows 8 in 2012

@ 2010/10/26
Microsoft Corp. released its Windows 7 operating system about a year ago and so far sold 240 million licenses. In order to celebrate the success of the fastest-selling operating system in history, Microsoft posted a number of blog posts, one of which accidentally revealed that the next-generation Windows 8 was due in 2012.

The Dutch subsidiary of Microsoft posted a note on Sunday, which reads that the world's largest software maker is working on Windows 8, but that the new operating system is not to be released for about two years. This is by far not the first time when Microsoft itself or its alleged employees reveal launch timeframe of Windows 8. Back in late 2009 it transpired that Microsoft planned to release Windows 8 in 2012 and information that emerged in early 2010 claimed that the new operating system was due in mid-2011.
