INVERNESS, Ill., August 25, 2004 - - VisionTekâ, a division of Hartford Computer Group and a leading supplier of memory products and advanced PC graphics, today introduced its new line of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 portable storage drives. The Xtreme2 GO Drive(tm) features Hi-Speed USB 2.0 performance and capacities of 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB.

In a move designed to draw loads of attention to its new offering, VisionTek is launching its 1GB portable drive to consumers for a net price of $99 after a $30 consumer mail-in rebate. "Other 1GB drives sell for over two hundred dollars and they have half the features that we do," boasted Jeff Hoeft, product manager for PC enhancement products at VisionTek. "Since we have the most feature-rich product, we figured we could do mega business by having the best price too."

VisionTek's Xtreme2 GO drives sport a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface for significantly higher data transfer rates - up to forty times faster than standard USB 1.1 portable drives. The new drives also feature the ability to do a system boot from the drive, password protection and security lock to protect sensitive data, a Microsoft Outlook utility to access your E-mail on the go, a limited lifetime warranty, and toll-free technical support.

The company is initially targeting PC enthusiasts and its large base of VisionTek graphics card owners. VisionTek's XTASY line of add-in graphics cards was the number one selling brand for several years and continues to be a top seller in the category.

The VisionTek Xtreme2 GO series features a 64MB model for $19.99, a128MB model for $24.99, a 256MB model for $39.99, a 512MB model for $79.99, and a 1GB model for $129.99 less a limited-time offer of a $30 mail-in consumer rebate. Inverness is 8 miles from my house. Visiontek was bought out, and switched from NV and ATI. It's so confusing in contacting them as they have two locations (locally). I will nail it down the contact eventually.
