Zotac launches GTX 460 with three DisplayPorts, limits them to 1600x1200 each :(

NVIDIA HAS BEEN a little bit behind AMD when it comes to adding multi-display support on a single card, but it seems like one of its partners have gone and at least made things a bit more interesting. Zotac has announced its GeForce GTX 460 3DP card today which features no less than three DisplayPort connectors as well as a DVI port for some quad display action for resolutions of up to 6400x1200.

This clearly sucks; I was hoping that when using only one DisplayPort, the resolution would be higher

oddly enough it appears that Zotac's "tweaked" design limits the DisplayPorts on the GTX 460 3DP to 1600x1200 while the dual-link DVI port manages to output 2560x1600.
there are no mainstream monitors with DP with resolutions at 1600x1200; widescreens is all the norm now... what a waste
