ATI Radeon May Transform into "AMD Radeon"

@ 2010/08/24
There are rumours floating around the Internet that Advanced Micro Devices may cease to use ATI brand for its graphics products. Even though some believe that this will strengthen the corporate "AMD" trademark, in reality this may be the worst branding decision ever made by the company.

I would think this move is logical after a couple of years. As long as they continue making decent and competitive video cards, I think people will get used to the name soon enough.

I hope it's only rumors... Besides, I thought that at the time AMD bought ATI?

*EDIT*

Seems I misunderstood the post. As I figured, I thought AMD were gonna drop ATI in favour of another chipmaker (Matrox anyone?), but the article means that AMD is simply going to drop adding the ATI name in favor of their own logo...

Still, I feel that an odd thing to do. Okay, so it's a rumour, I know, but some companies have been known to make even weirder decisions.
