AMD has revealed that the recently completed Office 2010 will make use the company's graphics circuits. Microsoft has developed the new production suite to make use of the power of GPUs and AMD says that this is possible with several generation of Radeon GPUs. The base requirements are DirectX 9.0 and 64MB or more graphics memory. AMD confirms that ATI Radeon HD 3000, 4000 and the latest 5000 series are fully compatible Office 2010.

would that mean that Office is using openCL to do all the calculations ? Would be nice if it would. It's a bit strange that Microsoft is only partnering with AMD, since nVidia is still market leader when it comes to gpu's.

//edit: now that I'm thinking of it, openCL is maybe cheaper than CUDA
