Japenese website ascii.jp got their hands on an Intel chipset roadmap. Intel X68 (codename Tylersburg-Refresh) is planned for Q2 this year. This S1366 chipset will sport SATA 6Gb, USB 3.0 and enough PCIe bandwidth for a high end system.

But each is still in the air, and later possibly in the form of Sandy Bridge ahead, "DMI 2.0" corresponding to the new ICH (ICH11 but with the numbers, P55 to treat ICH11 If, ICH12 with considerable be) looks like things could get out of that. This is the most ICH11, (PCH a step ahead of the second generation of the specification) will be transient specification. Significant point is believed to be the following three points.
* DMI 2.0Twice the speed of DMI (5GT / s) to become the DMI 2.0
* SATAGen3 、6Gbps , SATA 600 Gen3 is compatible with SATA and, 6Gbps transfer rates with SATA 600 to become
*Be equipped with a USB 3.0 controller

Looking realistically at timing, would not count on X68 until 2011; and even then... Intel is not releasing SSDs on SATA 6G this year... so why push a 6G motherboard chipset?

Is this credible? From what I'd heard Intel wasn't planning any new chipsets until Sandy Bridge, which presumably would itself require a new socket and chipset?
