Gigabyte's Radeon HD 5870 Super Overclock to have 1GHz GPU

@ 2010/01/14
Gigabyte Technology is preparing to refresh its Cypress-based card offer with a trio of custom cards that are factory overclocked and feature a dual-fan cooler. We're not going to talk all three as a bit more info is required, but we will focus on the highest-end model, the Radeon HD 5870 Super Overclock. Seen below, the card is said to have its GPU clocked at 1GHz (up from the stock 850 MHz), and the 1GB GDDR5 memory set to 5200 MHz (4800 MHz).

In addition to the higher clocks, the board features a blue 2ozPCB and a custom dual-slot, dual-fan cooler with four copper heatpipes, it has a 256-bit memory interface, DIrectX 11 and CrossFireX support, plus dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs (ATI Eyefinity is on board). The card's release date has not been revealed unfortunately but you can bet it will come out before the GF100.
