Before time runs out for 2009, Buffalo aims to introduce the first members of its new SHD-NSUH series of solid state drives. The fresh flashy family includes four drives that have a 2.5-inch form factor, boast MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips, 64MB of cache memory, both SATA 3.0 Gbps and USB connectivity, support TRIM, and have been measured to deliver transfer speeds of up to 186.6 MB/s.

Buffalo's 32, 64, 128 and 256GB SHD-NSUH SSDs cost $253, $369, $637, and $1,161, respectively. The 64GB and 128GB models will become available (in Japan) this week, the 32GB SSD will debut in late January, while the 256GB drive will come about in late May 2010.
