NVIDIA's Ion 2 to work with Intel Pineview processors

@ 2009/12/07
IT APPEARS THAT Nvidia has found a way to make its Ion 2 chipset work with Intel's upcoming Pineview Atom processors. Reportedly, Acer is the first Nvidia partner to have placed orders for Ion 2, although it's not yet clear what devices the new chipset will go into.

According to Digitimes, the Ion 2 chipset will be more of a GPU than a chipset. The reason for this is simple - Intel's Pineview Atom chip features an integrated memory controller, which means that there's no need for Nvidia to make a full chipset. We're still curious to see how this will all work together, especially as Intel's Pineview Atom processor also includes integrated graphics.
