RunCore 32GB Pro IV SSD Home Theater PC Upgrade Worth it?

During our visit to Hangzhou, China last month to visit RunCore for a product launch and factory tour, they gave us one of their 32GB Pro IV SSDs to take away and have some fun with once we returned home.

Since I believe ‘everyone should have an SSD in their system’, I decided I would install it into my AMD home theater PC and replace the Western Digital Green 1TB HDD with the SSD for a bit of a speed boost upgrade. Watch the video below as we show you some of the great features of the RunCore SSD, the setup and installation processes and the all important performance information.

I agree. For the price of that drive, they would have been much better off adding a 2tb drive in addition to the 1tb already in it, rather than replacing the 1tb with the SSD. Doesn't make sense for an HTPC.

HTPC Is all about storage capacity
SSD is all about speed, not storage capacity

not an ideal match; unless you plan to use a front-end PC with SSD for playing content on your screen, and have a backend file server with HDDs tucked away somewhere.

but even then that frontend PC will be quite costly; PopCorn Hour A110 costs ~€200 and rocks
