NVIDIA improves graphics quality with ambient occlusion

@ 2009/07/31
Support for ambient occlusion by NVIDIA is the type of innovation that we particularly like to find in graphics card drivers. Simply via the control panel, it allows you to improve rendering quality in some games that gain in terms of homogeneity and depth.

Of course the gain in quality isn’t as noticeable in some games as others. And yes the technique is very demanding in terms of resources, even though it has been simplified to a great degree. But it has the merit of having been created and working very well in some cases. It allows you to make the most of recent GeForce processing power, at the top end, to give a shot in the arm to some of the older games or make relevant these games which developers didn't notice we're now in 2009.
