Acer shows 11.6" One netbook

@ 2009/04/08
The netbook market is about to enter a new era where manufacturers are preparing to launch models with 11.6" displays. After being dominated by 10.1" models for a while, the netbook market is about to grow and further phase out the border between netbook and notebook. We are pretty sure that 11.6" models will become quite common, especially now that market leader Acer has launched new models of the Aspire One program.

The "flagship" is is a 11.6" model that is only 25mm thick and comes with a WXGA display with 1366x768 pixel resolution. Except from the size there is little to report about. Intel's Atom processor is still the heart and among other features we see the standard 3G broadband, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

25mm, we are approaching the thinness of really expensive ultraportables
