$6000 Acer Desktops Recalled Due To Overheating Problems
@ 2009/03/20GAMING BOX BUILDER ACER has been forced by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall a number of its top-end Predator desktops because they present a burn hazard to users.
The machines, which were sold between May and September last year for up to $6,000, were manufactured in China and have model numbers ASG7200 and ASG7700.
The recall comes after Acer received reports of internal wiring becoming bent or stripped causing the computers to overheat. This has lead to short-circuiting resulting in melted internal components and external casings.
