Gigabyte 9800GTX+ 1Gb Video Card Review

@ 2009/02/17
Depending on the game the Geforce 9800 GTX+ benefits from 1,024 MiByte. While older titles and engines like the one of Call of Duty: World at War or console ports like Fear 2: Project Origin don't run faster because of the bigger VRAM, one can see the importance of the video memory in Crysis Warhead, Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 incl. HD Pack. If you play with 8xMSAA at high resolutions or high-end Anti Aliasing modes like the xS hybrids or even SSAA, you don't stand a chance in many games with only 512 MiByte anyway. The 10 percent lower memory bandwidth of the Gigabyte card - compared to a GTX+ with the full 1.1 GHz VRAM frequency - lowers the performance by about 5 percent only.
