22W Athlon X2 removed from roadmap

AMD has quietly removed Lima based 1.8GHz 22W TDP dual cores from its roadmap. The company doesn’t talk about such a CPU nor does it offer it to OEMs or retail chains.

Athlon X2 3250e is dead before it was even born and AMD offers some 45W TDP CPUs that you can buy from companies such as HP here.

We will try to find why AMD decided to skip this market as such a CPU was better performing than Atom and it had some reasonable TDPs but Neo re-branding might be the real reason as Neo has just a CPU like that, just slightly de-clocked to 1.6GHz to meet the 15W power needs.

Not to mention all the OEMs which would have used it for usable EEE Box clones.

AMD is one big fail when it comes to capitalizing on their tech, they could easily made a chipset, GPU and CPU combo to pwn Atom but they refuse to.

Damn, would've been perfect for a low power home server....
