Asustek Expected to Announce Reorganization

@ 2009/01/20
Asustek Computer, the world’s largest maker of mainboards and a leading producer of notebooks, plans to reorganize the company in a bid to optimize its resources and also streamline its operations. Under the restructuring, Asustek will reduce its “manpower” in traditional businesses, such as motherboards and graphics cards.

Asus will divide its notebook business into two separate units: one in charge of consumer-oriented models and another in charge of enterprise and cost-effective products. The mainboard and graphics board businesses will also be divided in the same way: one unit will aim consumer market, whereas another unit will be focused on enterprise and low-cost markets.
