High-density 23'' Dell display with 2048x1152 resolution

After quietly showing up in Canada over a week ago, Dell's bizarro 23" display has finally become available in the U.S. The SP2309W is like the weird foreign kid of PC monitors, since it has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a generally uncommon 2048x1152 resolution.

You can order the display right now for $379, around 80 bucks more than what Dell charges for the 24", 1920x1080 S2409W. The SP2309W has pretty decent specs for its price range, including a 2ms response time, 300cd/m² luminosity, and an "80,000:1" dynamic contrast ratio (likely a much lower number if you don't want the backlight to change all the time—Dell Canada quoted 1000:1 last week). Some users may not be so keen on the 160°/170° viewing angles, though, since those are giveaway signs of a 6-bit TN panel.
