MSI 45nm AM3 / AM2+ CPU support list

Today AMD will announce their first 45nm based "Shanghai" Opteron server CPU's which improve performance and lower down power usage. Soon AMD will also introduce this new architecture for the desktop and MSI is ready for this! There will be 2 different AMD 45nm CPU's:

* AM2+ 45nm CPU's (DDR2 only) will be released in Q4 2008
* AM3 45nm CPU's (DDR2 + DDR3) will be released in 2009

The AM3 45nm CPU's can be used in new socket AM3 based MSI mainboards (ETA 2009) in combination with DDR3 memory. Besides this the AM3 45nm CPU's are pin-to-pin compatible with the current AM2+ mainboards, but limited to DDR2 only. The list also includes the award winning "DKA790GX Platinum" and "DKA790GX" which are the first AMD mainboards equiped with DrMOS for efficient and cool performance.
