Silverstone Raven RV01 turns the heat up

@ 2008/11/01
Even if computer cases comes in all kinds of shapes and size, there are two things that never seem to change; they are either standing up or lying down and the connectors are on the back of the case. With Raven RV01, Silverstone has gone with a new solution after monitoring the PC market and especially the ever hotter graphics cards. Silverstone's Raven case has the motherboard turned 90 degrees so that all connections and expansion cards are facing up.

Why is actually not that hard to understand as heat travels up and this way graphics cards and other heat producing expansion cards can emit the heat in the most logical direction. The least possible heat trapped inside the case, the better.

Over at VR-Zone they have published pictures of what is supposed to be the final design of Raven RV01 and reveal that the store prices will be around $199 when it appears in stores for the Christmas shopping. It is going to be a long wait until we find out if Silverstone's fresh thinking works in practice, but on paper things are looking quite interesting.
