Xigmatek NRP-HC1001 1000w Power Supply

The Xigmatek NRP-HC1001 is the first Xigmatek power supply we have reviewed and certainly had a lot of things going for it as it is based on the highly popular CWT PUC platform. However, while the majority of this potential was realized as the unit had good efficiency, and was quiet, this was easily the worst performing example of a CWT PUC unit we have seen to date with its less than stellar voltage regulation. The DC Output Quality of this unit was another slightly weak point, however the PUC platform as a whole is noisy so this is nothing unique to this unit but was noticeably worse today. As such while a passing unit and a good performing one, overall the major draw of this unit is the fact that this unit represents the best price on a CWT PUC based power supply we have reviewed to date as it is currently $229. We had seen it at Newegg previously for 219 after MIR.
