Some features are obviously more important to a group of people for example; overclockers might prefer a more rounded warranty program while the HTPC enthusiasts might value the audibility of the cooling solution more. A simple detail such as the warranty period is often difficult to locate on the vendor's website leading people to seek help in forums. Today, in our effort to help improve this situation, we bring you a work-in-progress comparison of the most of the leading vendors that offer ATI products.

Old card, new cards have protection against that kind of failure.

I did have a Geforce 1 DDR fail on me due to overclocking, set OC in software, hit "apply". Hard reboot, checkered display, unable to load Windows. But that was the only card so far which failed on me due to software OC.

If you're a normal overclocker, which is oc by software only, you don't break videocards, it's as simple as that. Running your card at 750/1000 instead of 500/800 does not come with an increased risk of damaged, life expectancy decreases maybe by 0,01%. The only thing to worry about is saving your game before it locks up due to a too high frequency, followed by a reboot and a slight decrease in clock frequencies.

People who voltmod, change to exotic cooling, flash biosses ... those are the overclockers who need the RMA process so badly.
