Computex 2004 Taiwan, wrapup and more

Another new socket, Intel’s socket-775, seems to have a few problems of it’s own, and we’ve already reported about this earlier, as the socket is too fragile for multiple processor insertions, and most motherboard manufacturers were quick to comment that they’d rather have stayed with socket-478. Talking to many of our collegeaus over at the Tech-Report, Bit-Tech, Anandtech and others we heard them expressing the same concerns. The same could be said about BTX, only half a dozen BTX cases were on display at the show, whilst there was an abundance of ATX cases. The only BTX motherboards we managed to track down were early samples, only featured at Intel’s booth, none of the actual manufacturers bothered to show them at their own booth
