i think of buying a x800pro also , not much power and I think less noisier then the 6800 series.

And maybe he clocks good
Comment from calantak @ 2004/05/07
well... we could get us a x800 pro now, and then sell that one when the x800xt comes out
no, i'll be buying 1 week before gaming holiday
Comment from RichBa5tard @ 2004/05/07
hehe

the 6800U price is a bit steep though: 591 euro
Comment from jmke @ 2004/05/07
who was selling his R9800XT for €375 again?
Comment from RichBa5tard @ 2004/05/07
X800 Pro 256mb @ 389 euro

ATI sure did a good job .. they are about on par with nVidia .. but I feel the 9800 has even better imagequality :s Altough the x800 still beats 6800 in imagequality.

nVidia announced that they'll be releasing another faster card in the near future and ATi is going to do the same so the fight isn't over. It's safe to say that if you buy just one of these new cards you'll be safe for the next few years Best buy seems the X800Pro ... since it's got some nice OC possibilities.

By the way are this benchmarks from the beta versions or the final versions ?
Comment from 187(V)URD@ @ 2004/05/04
na maybe but i said oc it to a xt variant

The XT isn't much oc'able because of the frequentie limit of 600mhz .
Problem is: will you be able to activate the 4 missing pipelines?

omg @ ULTRA6800 in Call of duty

speed is for the nvidia and image quality and resolution for radeon.

power consumption is less for radeon and even the cooler has shrunk a bit, reducing the card's overall weight and ensuring that it would fit even into a mini-ITX case.

big detail is the price tag for the cards , lets wait till they are in europe (belgium).

I think the X800Pro is the best buy , if you can oc it to a XT.

but hey thats what I think
