iX2 Invasion Case Review

@ 2008/07/30
We recently showed you the prototype of the IX2, a case quite unlike any other. Now we have the complete test of the final version. This time our test is based on an empty case, as it would be sold to the public. A chance for us, and for you, to discover whether this unique design isn’t too awkward to assemble and whether the cooling of the various components is sufficient.

It's not an easy conclusion. On the one hand we love the product. It's beautiful, stylish, has a good finish, and is completely different, with an interesting and functional design. On the other hand, it's expensive, and the temperatures are high. The originality of this case provides a welcome alternative to the existing range on the market. If we were judging on looks alone, we would award a gold medal, but this would not be very constructive. In fact, we can't ignore its faults. In addition to the initial outlay of 279 €, you need to invest in efficient cooling systems, to avoid the risk of overheating, which could damage components. I can already see that some of you winced at 279 €, but this case, which is not mass produced, is an exciting initiative. It won't be for everyone, but for those who want to escape from the "routine". For us, we love it, despite its faults.
