Asus cuts prices of their Intel P45 motherboards

@ 2008/06/20
Sources at Asustek explained the price cuts to buoyant sales of P45 motherboards. Since the first batch of P45 boards sold out at soon as they hit shelves, many distributors/agents approached Asustek about a possible price cut to further stimulate sales prior to the summer holiday period, the sources said.

Asustek has cut P45 motherboards by about 5-7% following the introduction of P45 offerings from its major rivals. The retail price of the mainstream P5Q-E has been reduced from NT$7,890 (US$260) to NT$7,290, and P5Q Pro from NT$6,590 to NT$6,090. Meanwhile, for entry-level models, prices have been cut from NT$5,790 to NT$5,490, and may be found at even NT$200 less at some specific shops. Prices of the P5Q3 and P5Q Deluxe have both reduced by NT$200-400, the sources detailed.
