Abit to drop out of Motherboard Business

Second-tier motherboard maker Abit is reportedly concidering phasing out of the motherboard market after evaluating its shipment performance of Intel 4 series motherboards, according to channel sources.

Abit, howerver, maintains it does not know anything about the speculation and will continue to develop motherboard products.

Do you remember what happened the last time Abit branched into the CE market? They went under and had to be bought out by Universal.

Considering ABIT's BIOS support history with the IP35 Pro, I don't think I'll ever buy or suggest an ABIT board to anyone.

Hmm, whe heard this on CeBit as well: Abit was having troubles selling it's motherboards and was considering leaving that market.
