Palit 9800 GTX review and SLI testing

@ 2008/04/09
With a high-end card such as this, many are no doubt wondering what a 9800 GTX SLI system would be capable of. So this is something we are going to look at today, comparing the a pair of 9800 GTX cards against a 9600 GT, 8800 GT, and 8800 GTS 512MB SLI configuration. How nice would be to come home from work one day and see a pair of these powerful cards sitting in your motherboard?

And 9800GTX=8800GTS 512mb, no difference! Except for tri-SLI.

9800GT will be 55nm and launch this July.

8800GTX -> 9800GTX is a die shrink
Comment from Kougar @ 2008/04/14
Yeah, but they already shrunk the chips... doesn't count.

there are plans to rename 8800GT to 9800GT

Nope! Would of seen higher clockspeeds if so... 8800GT/GTS still has highest factory overclocks. Is why 9800GTX was a pointless release!

7800 -> 7900 was a die shrink. Not sure if 9800 -> 9900 will be the same but makes sense.

so you're sayin just like the 7 series you think they're gonna do the same thing to the 9 series? sounds good. i just am gonna have trouble waiting... ARRRGGG.
Comment from Kougar @ 2008/04/10
Just rumor, but D10U-20 and D10U-30 supposed to be in Q2. Then Q3 will be GT200.

9900 series first ey

sounds good.... but i still think i'm going to wait a generation... any word on a 10 series as of yet... my thoughts are... nvidia released this bogus 9 series in anticipation of the 10 series which will dominate. and thus really deserves a 10 series... or 10,000 name. but that's just speculation. lets see how it plays out. but i still have a gut feeling that they have something up their sleeves.
