@ 2008/03/25Asus has announced a new addition to its 9600GT series, branded ASUS EN9600GT SILENT/HTDI/512M. As you could have guessed from the name of this card, this is a passively cooled 9600GT, which uses Asus's V-Cool heatsink with three heatpipes.
According to the press release, Asus claims that this card has 10 degrees Celsius lower temperature when compared to the reference cooled 9600GT, which is a great result if you know that this one produces zero decibels of noise. The only drawback is that this card is a dual slot solution.
