Radeon HD 3850 not selling like hotcakes

It appears as if AMD's plan of going all out on the Radeon HD 3850 has backfired, as there still seems to be plenty of stock avaiable, while there's a total lack of HD 3870 and very much a shortage of GeForce 8800 GT cards. It seems that Nvidia can only manage to deliver 8800 GT's in dribs and drabs and this is affecting its partners.

Can't sell what is already sold out.

HD 3850 isn't a bad card, smokes the 8600GTS, 7950GT, and 1950XTX and seen it around $160 during Black Friday.

I have already wondered why they made more 3850s when they needed more 3870s because I didn't see the 3850 selling that well.

A consumer will not buy a card if he sees something of better value, even if it is not in stock.
