More 512MB GeForce 8800 GTS details emerge

It will have 128 Shader processors, compared to 112 in the 8800 GT, and this is what really sets the 8800 GTS apart from the 8800 GT. We're not quite sure why Nvidia had to make a dual slot cooler for these cards, but apparently those extra few MHz are pushing the heat generated by the GPU too high for a single slot cooler.

The rumored retail price for these parts is US$299-349, although we have no way of verifying this.

Interesting, I got it right. Old GTS is given the boot, different 65nm 8800GT version is introduced instead to fill in...

650MHz default clocks is much higher than 600MHz for 8800GT... suspect 700MHz will be "standard" for the 512mb 8800GTS now once factory overclocked parts arrive?

the cooler could be the selling point as it saves 10-20$ for a better cooler
