TSMC turns in whopping profit

@ 2007/10/25
The firm turned in net profits of NT$30.37 billion on revenue of NT$88.96 billion for its third quarter, which ended the 30th of September last. That gave TSMC a gross margin of 45.8 per cent and a net margin of 34.1 per cent.

Not when TSM tools up the products.

because suppliers, even those with market power, get pushed when a price war arises

It wouldn't be impossible that NV could turn to Intel for making their chips, just to pressure TSMC.

What does your statment base on?
TSM is the main supplier; it is not going to give up pricing. They sell because others can't produce enough at the price they want.

I see a first victim in the price war between ATI and NV.
