@ 2007/10/23PCMark Vantage is the latest system benchmarking software from FutureMark and has been designed to run exclusively under Windows Vista. Whereas previous versions of PCMark have focused on testing specific hardware components, Vantage endeavors to test system performance under common user scenarios; for example, Web surfing, document editing, video and picture manipulation, to name but a few. In many ways, Vantage is much like the old Winstone benchmarking suite from Ziff Davis.
It could be argued that Vantage is unnecessary given that Vista already includes a system performance test in the form of the Windows Experience Index. However, this inbuilt test is in no way as thorough as PCMark Vantage.
