Nvidia to Boost GeForce 8800 GTS with 112 Shader Processors

@ 2007/10/04
The world’s leading supplier of graphics chips is said to activate 16 additional unified shader processors in the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB graphics cards, which means that the newer versions of the product will come with 112 stream processors activated. By contrast, current 8800 GTS models feature 96 shader processors, whereas the 8800 GTX comes with 128 shader processors.

I'm not so sure. 8800GT 3dmark was about as high as my E6300 ~3.2Ghz + 648/1975 clocked 8800GTS 320mb 3dmark06 score. Looks like they are trying to widen the gap between the 8800GTS and 8800GT a bit...

let's wait for reviews before we make ASSumptions about performance

A card that scores 10k7 in 3D Mark 2006 is not worse then current 8800GTS, not even with a quad core.

If it costs the same as the current GTS, who would complain?
Comment from jmke @ 2007/10/04
uhm, no.

Performance wise here's the deal:

8800 GT 256Mb < 8800 GT 512Mb < 8800 GTS 320Mb < 8800 GTS 640Mb < 8800 GTS 640Mb Rev2 < 8800 GTX < 8800 Ultra

huh, why would we need that, we allready have the 8800GT 512MB coming which would have around same performance in most games.
