AMD Prepares SB750 Southbridge w/ RAID 5 Support

@ 2007/08/16
AMD has removed support of RAID 5 mode from SB700 Southbridge which is to be paired up with the upcoming RD790 chipset series. Therefore, the SB700 supports only RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 modes. AMD has another successor, the SB750 that will be supporting RAID 5 mode. However, SB700 and SB750 are the essentially same apart from RAID 5 support. They support 12 USB 2.0 ports and 2 dedicated USB 1.1 ports, 6 SATA 3Gb/s ports and eSATA, HD Audio, up to 2GB Flash memory for ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive. By end of next year, we should be seeing SB800 for RD890 chipset. (NC)
