The average American checks his or her e-mail five times a day, with 59 percent of portable device users checking it every single time an e-mail comes in... no matter when that is. In fact, 43 percent of portable device users reported keeping it next to them at night so that they can listen for incoming e-mail while they sleep. And I thought I had a problem.

I checked email in the morning before going to work for about two months, but it was too time consuming and would arrive just in the nick of time at work
