State of the Silicon Union - Q207

The “sky is falling” drama has been repeated more times than I can count on public forums, but it’s not true. Is AMD getting its *** kicked right now? You bet. Given the fact that its current sales depends on aging K8 and X1000 architecture, you can bet that sales are way down. AMD is constantly losing market to Intel Core 2 Duo processors and NVIDIA 8800 series video cards.

Opportunity is endless .... IF we only know what it will bring.

If AMD did this, then .... otherwise ......
If Nvda did this, then .... otherwise .....
Intel did this (C2D) and expanding GPU + Chipset (??), stock remains flat.

Bottom line, we don't know what future brings us. I have been watching Nvda stock for years, wish I had done something. If we only knew Priceline.com and Amazon.com could bring us ...... we would have been buying the best there is on the market with no concern of how much a Vcard cost They almost double the money in a year.

If the ATI HD 2900 XT is priced on par with 8800 GTS 320Mb (this means in $250-300 region) it'll become THE best bang for buck VGA card. If it is priced just below 8800 GTX ($450-500) it'll very unwise to NOT get the GTX or stick with the cheaper GTS.
