AMD Plans to Achieve 30% Market Share at Any Cost

Advanced Micro Devices, the world’s second largest provider of x86 chips who commanded 25.3% of shipments back in Q4 2006, said at conference that it would lower its sales guidance for the first quarter of fiscal 2007. However, the company remains committed to its goal of achieving 30% and above market share.

A company does not have money, borrowed money to buy, competing with the rich in a price war ..... trying to screw the shareholders to give up more by offering more shares. Increase SOM without making money does not belong in Wallstreet. I must add, Intel is not doing much these days either.
