Workaround Confirmed How To Install Vista Clean

If you buy a Window Vista Upgrade version, you have install an older version of Windows before you can upgrade, even if you try to do a clean install... some people have found a work-around:

"Now, however, this workaround allows users to perform a “clean install.” The process is a bit tedious, but is not hard at all to complete. Users have to perform these simple steps to perform a clean install of Vista without a previous version of Windows installed with an upgrade DVD

I think it's rather because people might use pirated copies of an older OS; if you need XP + activation, the chances of using an illegal XP copy for a basis to upgrade to Vista will be largely diminished;

THis loophole in the upgrade process, where you "upgrade" the Vista Time Trial version is kind of a goof by Microsoft, that HA-HA pic is quite cool

will they fix their Vista setup?

looks like they screwed themselves with that upgrade procedure intended to make people buy the full version

this is the very interesting part but this means that any retail upgrade DVD can be used as a fully functioning full retail copy of Vista.
